Troubleshooting the plugin

Common problems when preparing, uploading and publishing builds.

The upload says "Could not reach the Deltaship server"#

Check your connection and that Server address in the plugin settings matches the one on the dashboard's Plugin setup card. Uploads retry on their own; if they still fail, try again later.

The upload stopped halfway#

Start it again. Parts that already arrived are kept, so only the rest is sent. An upload that is left unfinished for a day expires; starting again creates a new one and still skips what your studio already has.

"The build changed on disk during the upload"#

Something edited the build folder after it was prepared. Prepare it again, verify it, then upload.

"This build was prepared for a different studio or game"#

The ids in Project Settings > Plugins > Deltaship do not match the build. Fix them and prepare again.

"A release with this version already exists"#

Every release of a game on a platform needs a new version. Bump the version and prepare again.

The update players get is bigger than expected#

Compare the two builds first (Compare builds and patch size) and check the packaging settings warnings. Encryption of assets and changed compression settings are the usual causes.

"The server is busy" or "maintenance"#

Deltaship sometimes runs short clean-up work for a studio. Wait a minute and try again.

Players need a lot of free space to update#

They need free space equal to the largest file that changed. Split very large paks; see one huge pak instead of several.
