Launcher updates and platforms
How the launcher updates itself, and which systems it runs on.
The launcher updates itself#
Each studio's launcher has its own update feed run by Deltaship. The launcher checks when it starts and every six hours, downloads a new version in the background, and installs it when the player quits. Players can also choose Restart to update when an update is ready.
- A launcher never installs an older version than the one it runs.
- The installer is checked against Deltaship's code signature before it runs. An unsigned pilot build has no code signature; its updates are verified against a record Deltaship signs for each version instead.
- New launcher versions can roll out to a share of players first.
- Deltaship can require a minimum launcher version. Below it, the launcher shows Update required until the update is installed. It only does this when the required update is available to download, so players are never locked out without a way forward.
Your launcher's name and icon#
Your launcher installs under your studio's name, with your icon and installer art, and appears under your name in the Start menu.
Request a build of your studio's own installer from Launcher in the dashboard; players download it from your player portal. Changing your design does not need a new build; your name, icon or installer art does. See Installer and launcher builds.
Platforms#
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| Windows (64-bit) | Supported |

The installer is per user and lets players choose where to install the launcher.
