Players and the player portal
Invite-only or open sign-up, the portal, disabling players and limits.
Players are the people who use your launcher. They belong to your studio only: an email that plays at two studios has two separate accounts.
How players get an account#
On Players, under Player portal, choose Who can create an account:
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| Require an invite (the default) | You invite each player by email. Nobody else can create an account. |
| Open sign-up | Anyone can create an account on your portal. They confirm their email before they can sign in to the launcher. |
With Open sign-up, the launcher's sign-in screen also shows Create an account, which opens your portal's sign-up page. Forgot password? shows with either setting. See the launcher for players.
Invite a player#
- On Players, under Invite a player, enter their email and send.
- They get an email with a link to your player portal, where they set a password. The link works once, for 7 days.
- They sign in to your launcher with that email and password.
You can resend an invite from the player list.
The player portal#
Your portal is at app.deltaship.dev/portal/ followed by your studio's short name. Open player portal on the Players page takes you there. Players use it to accept an invite, sign up (if open), sign in, and reset a forgotten password. It uses the default launcher design with the Accent color you set under Player portal, and shows a small "Powered by Deltaship" on plans that keep the mark.
You can also set a Launcher download link for the portal's download button.
Disable or remove a player#
- Disable stops a player from signing in and signs them out of every launcher and of the portal at once. Their installed game stays on their computer but cannot be updated while they are signed out. Enable restores access.
- Remove deletes the player.
Inviting, disabling and removing players need the owner or admin role. Everyone on the team can see the list.
Limits#
Your plan sets how many players you can have. Active and invited players count; disabled players do not.
| Free | Starter | Pro | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Players | 100 | 2,000 | 25,000 | By contract |
At the limit, new invites and re-enabling a player are refused until you remove players or upgrade. With open sign-up, new sign-ups stop quietly at the limit. Players who already have an account are never affected.
