Terms
Terms of service
The rules for using Deltaship. Draft of 22 October 2026.
Draft, pending legal review; not yet in effect.
This text describes how Deltaship works today. Items marked [OWNER: ...] are choices the owner still has to make.
The service
Deltaship, run by [OWNER: legal entity name, registered address and country], lets a studio publish builds of its game from Unreal Engine, manage releases and news in a dashboard, and give players a branded desktop launcher that installs and updates the game with small patches. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms for your studio. If you sign up for a company, you confirm you may bind it.
The launcher is available for Windows. Features marked "planned" on the pricing page are not part of the service yet.
Accounts and your team
- Give us a real email address, keep your sign-in details and publish tokens secret, and tell us if you think they were exposed.
- You are responsible for what members of your team do in your studio, and for removing people who should no longer have access.
- Each studio is separate. We do not let one studio see another's data.
Plans and limits
Deltaship is offered on the plans below. Prices are in US dollars per month; yearly billing is cheaper per month where the pricing page says so. These figures are read from the same plan catalog the service enforces. Enterprise terms are set by contract.
| Plan | Price | Hosted storage | Games | Largest build | Players | Team seats | Launcher builds | Player downloads |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 / month | 5 GB | 1 | 5 GB | 100 | 2 | 2 a month | 250 GB a month, fair use |
| Starter | $19 / month | 50 GB | 3 | 25 GB | 2,000 | 3 | 10 a month | 2 TB a month, fair use |
| Pro | $79 / month | 250 GB | 10 | 100 GB | 25,000 | 10 | 50 a month | 10 TB a month, fair use |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
A limit blocks the next thing that would use more than the plan allows, such as an upload, an invite or a new game. It never stops a live release from installing or patching for players. When we change prices or limits, studios already subscribed keep the plan version they bought. [OWNER: notice period for price changes]
Payment
Paid plans are bought in the Studio dashboard. Paddle is the merchant of record: it takes payment, adds sales tax or VAT where required and issues invoices, under its own terms. If a payment fails, a studio becomes read-only after 14 days and returns to the Free plan after 44 days. [OWNER: refund policy, trial terms and cancellation notice]
Fair use of downloads
Deltaship does not charge per gigabyte your players download. Each plan lists a monthly download allowance for fair use, shown in the table above. Downloads continue within normal use. [OWNER: what happens above the allowance: contact first, a plan change, or a charge; and the notice we give]
Acceptable use
You may not use Deltaship to:
- distribute malware, spyware or anything designed to harm, or to take control of, a player's device or data;
- distribute content you have no right to distribute, or that is illegal where your players are;
- collect players' data in ways your launcher and your own privacy notice do not tell them about;
- attack, overload or probe Deltaship or other studios, or try to access data that is not yours;
- avoid plan limits, for example by splitting one game across free studios, or resell the service as your own platform without our agreement.
Your builds, your players
You are responsible for your game, the builds you publish and your relationship with your players: licences and end-user terms, age ratings, support, and the lawful handling of the personal data you collect through your launcher. For player data, Deltaship acts on your behalf as described in the privacy policy. [OWNER: whether a separate data processing agreement is offered to studios]
You keep all rights in your game and content. You give Deltaship the right to store, copy, sign and deliver them to your players as needed to run the service. On the Free plan, your launcher shows a small "Powered by Deltaship" mark.
Availability and support
We aim for the uptime and support response targets on the service levels page. They are targets, not a guarantee, except where a signed contract says so. How to reach us is on the support page.
Suspension
We may pause or restrict a studio when:
- it breaks the acceptable use rules, or we reasonably believe a build or account puts players or other studios at risk (we will tell you why and, where we can, give you the chance to fix it first);
- a payment fails (see Payment);
- a Free studio has been inactive: warnings at 60 and 75 days, downloads paused at 90 days and release files deleted at 120 days. Signing in, uploading, a player download or upgrading resets the clock.
While a studio is paused, players cannot download. Installed games keep working.
Ending your use and deleting data
You can stop using Deltaship at any time. We may end your access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, with notice where we can. After a studio closes, we delete its release files and its personal data as described in the privacy policy. Download your own copies of what you need first; we cannot restore what is deleted. [OWNER: how long after closure data is deleted, and any export help offered]
Our property and Unreal Engine
Deltaship, its software, name and logo belong to us. Unreal Engine is a trademark of Epic Games, Inc.; Deltaship is not affiliated with Epic Games and these terms do not change your agreement with Epic.
Warranties, liability and indemnity
[OWNER: warranty disclaimer ("as is") wording suitable for your jurisdiction]
[OWNER: limit of liability, for example a cap tied to fees paid in the last 12 months, and what cannot be limited by law]
[OWNER: whether studios indemnify Deltaship for claims about their games and content, and the other way round for Deltaship's own software]
Governing law and changes
[OWNER: governing law, courts or arbitration, and the place disputes are heard] [OWNER: how and when changes to these terms are announced; effective date]
